Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? What About People?
September 20, 2007
If you have a nice High-Definition monitor and have been wanting the perfect screen saver for it, you might find the choices rather limited. I googled it found none….at first. But then I came across an article
that made the one and only true high def screen saver sound like much more than a screen saver.
If you haven’t tried the Electric Sheep screensaver you don’t know what you’re missing.
I’ve been running it for several months now and I find myself constantly blown away by the amazing new visuals it provides.
“Electric Sheep is a distributed screensaver that
harnesses idle computers into a render farm with the purpose of
animating and evolving artificial lifeforms. It uses a P2P network to
share animations and coordinate their evolution.”
Much like the SETI@home project, millions of computers contribute to the overall project. What’s great, and unlike the SETI thing, is that you see results on your computer in ever-changing shapes and colors that truly dazzle.
Posting some of the images here won’t truly do it justice. But here are some still examples. You can see video examples here.

He’s back with the E Street band and it sounds as good as any of his best stuff. If your’e a Bruce fan, you won’t be sorry.

Personally, if I owned mapquest, she’d be the spokesmodel.
you know like have her saying. “Now everyone has maps” and have that dinging sound when she winks
